Day 2 – 15/07/2021 – Safari 1
Arusha to Tarangire National Park for game viewing and thereafter to Mto wa Mbu for overnight
This morning you are heading off in a four wheel drive safari vehicles with picnic lunch boxes. Your Tanzanian driver/guide will take you to one of Tanzania’s less visited places, Tarangire National Park. Established in 1970, it takes its name from the Tarangire River, a permanent watercourse that cuts a swathe through the middle of the Park, allowing fantastic views along the valley. On approaching the Park however, the most eye-catching aspect is the view of baobab trees rising from the plain. These trees are instantly recognizable by the leafless branches that protrude from their crown – almost as if they were the roots of a tree that was planted upside down.
The scars on their trunks bear witness to the presence of large herds of Elephant that Tarangire attracts. The largely forested areas and high grasses most of the year make game viewing harder than on the short grass plains of the Serengeti, but during the dry months (Jul-Sep) large numbers of animals congregate along the banks of the river. As well as Elephant it’s possible to see Wildebeest, Buffalo, Zebra, Thompson’s Gazelle, Eland and Hartebeest, as well as Leopard – if you’re exceptionally lucky.
Later you will drive to Mto wa Mtbu for overnight stay at the Kilimamoja Lodge on FB.
Day 3 – 16/07/2021 – Safari 2
Mto wa Mbu to Ngorongoro Crater for Crater Tour and back to Arusha
Early in the morning you will drive to Ngorongoro crater with your picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic Crater and one of World wonders of creation, promises an unforgettable experience. Crater is the best place ever thought on your dream of Big Five game viewing. The Crater where a large variety of wildlife concentrates in a relatively small; yet diverse area. You’ll have the chance to see Lion, Rhino, Elephants and a wide range of herbivore and Antelope. Later in the evening you will be driving back to Arusha, hoping that you have enjoyed your trip.
